we use our mitics pmt tyres, usually t41 (someone with a very powerful bike like bzm 50cc t4) and only the pilots of the junior category uses the junior tyres
we pay about 110€ for a pair of tyres
onestly I don't understand why in indoor tracks you use B compound: if I'm right it's stronger than t4/t41...

during a racing-day in our championship all the categories usually have a pratice session in the evening and the race in the afternoon, so there are about 5-6 races each event

Yes B tyres are the hardest compound that i know of. in door we would use
T4s or Bs because if you get heat into your tyres say, with a junior R, it will pick all the dirt and marbles up on to the tyres, therefore making them more slippery than if you are using a harder compound.

well thats the theory anyway. but to be honest i dont think i would ride indoor again!! By the way any italians wishing to ride indoor, i personally dont recommend it. you may need a :nurse:

Just wondering, how long have most of you been riding for?? and what times of year do you race?? because we have a winter championship which is on now, but its too colddddddd and then the summer championships from march to august.

ah I understand... I was thinking that indoor trackr would be very clean but it isn't so!

our championship begins in this month: in my zone there's the first race on 12th of march and the final races are in october; onestly I don't know when the minor championships begins...

in England what do you think about chinese minibikes? a lot of Italian boys and girls begin this sport thanks to this cheap bikes that often comes from English sellers

in italy, or better in norther part is quite difficult to race during winter, last time it snowed a lot there ( ~ 50cm ) and it is very very cold, so the best period to race is from middle feb to late nov.

btw italian minibike championship has just grown up by a new championship designed by UISP ( that is an italian sport related association ) that start up in these last few weeks the project of this new italian championship.

The big news there is the possibility to compete with also chinese bikes in an Economic particular class.

And it is composed by 5 race in different italian kart tracks.

hmmm theres alot of people that disagreee with them, and I am one ! People ride them on the streets and cause havoc WHICH IS ILLEGAL!!!! so the police sometimes crush the bikes! Theyre have been deaths of children (teenagers) and even dogs due to these maniacs on the road. maybe in italy you are better behaved lol, i hope you are!! they are always breaking down and making a mess of circuits. I guess though they are good at getting you in to the highly popular sport but thats it! what are your opinions on this??

Thats very interesting ghego! would this championship also go into the final rounds for the overall champions? 50cm!!! we are having snow in england currently as well :( but not 50 cm :O you'll need to get spikes on your tyres ;)! by the way the winter olympics were very well hosted and entertaining! well done (our countrys winter abilities are very low lol) ;)

oh my god, I hate that people! I have a chinese minibike but I've never ride it on the open road! it's an extremely dangerous thing. every time I speek with a child that wants a minibike I tell him that he has to think first to himself and then to the bike: I think I've spent more money for my wearing than for my bike! I usually ride in the tracks, sometimes in desolated parking but ever and ever in condition of big security (very big parking, with no lawn, no sidewalk, no street lamp etc... -I'm scared of this!!!- and usually alone or at least with one or two others bikers)

those riders are crazzzzy!!!:clap: :clap: the bottom one was a brilliant save :clap: i saw it on the video senior open at codogno very entertaining race i must say! who is he though, the person riding side saddle, because hes a brilliant rider!! does he ride a stamas? and also am i right in saying he rides in senior mini as well?

Riding bikes in the streets is stricly forbidden by laws in italy too and people risk a lot doing this, in porticular for they wallets... :)

Btw there are a lot of people that ride bikes in non-tracks areas, like discount parkings and going on, but some of them have the permission to do it, in italy we have some nice tracks, but they aren't enought imho, and so group of people ask to their own cities majors to permit them to ride in particular area, parking or going on.

In italy the chinese phenomena permit to increase the interests around a sport that was dead some years ago.
The first people who said this where the big italian minibike manufacter, they have always known that lots of people bored by the problems provided by chinese bikes, in a near future will be interested in better bikes so in them :)

And the trend is this, lots of people that started with a air cooled chinese, that bored by the low performance decided to buy a better bike, some of them decided for a chinese water cooled, others for an italian water cooled one.
But sooner or later an italian minibike is a must :)

About the UISP championship i've to say that it is not related with the FMI one that follows the FIM Minibike Europen Championship terms, so the winners of UISP will not race against FMI ones in a final :(

Yes Ghego. The chinese bikes do have there good points!! And im very very glad to hear that they are respecting there bikes and not riding illegally. I'll be honest, I've rode in a car park before BUT it was closed plus we had permission by the owner... But then idiots in karts came down putting washing up liquid all over the circuit making it unridable, since then we only goto tracks, Sadly we have to travel for hours to get to tracks :(

I agree with you also when you state they will buy better bikes. when this happens it's fair to say the chinese bikes have served there purpose.

I bet the next challenge for riders will be to be UISP and FMI champions :)

sponsorship are hard to find in this sport, the factories bet every year on new bikers, and you can see in 3 years riders changing 3 official bikes or so.

btw you know here the possibility of to be chosen as official rider is easier due to the fact that the factories are not so quite far from the tracks.

I've recently see that sooner we will have a new minibike manufacter from UK, do you ever listen to Racetech minibikes? I know they started tuning BMS and GRC bikes, but now 've heard that they'll start to made up their own minibikes.

the UISP challange is very interesting in particular in money terms, it's very cheap one:

each race is 50€

FMI

subscription is 140€
each race is 70€

yes racetech are good arent they!!! true about the factories too, like racetech are situated at a circuit called lydd... i went there for a practice during half term, it took us 7 hours to get there..........




....... it was one big lake!! never even got to rode :( it was just totally flooded!! so another 7 hour journey back up north.

the new bikes are the RT1 and the RT2 which is underconstruction, featuring hydraulic brakes, AMG engine so on.
I picked up the RT2 which is under construction and it is amazingly light!!!!! but yet 3 times stronger than a BMS frame...it'll be certainly a good bike for sure! BTW how did you know about racetech ;) they've like only just started lol
